Spring is just around the corner and it is the ideal time of year to start exploring the outdoors. The weather is improving and there is more daylight for us to enjoy. Easter is the perfect time for a getaway, giving you much needed space to relax.

1. Fun Sails at the Bay Sea School – 8 April 2019 onwards
Have you ever wanted to learn how to sail? The Bay Sea School are offering taster sessions and no prior experience is needed. Each yacht has a fully qualified skipper and there is also room for up to 4 people.
Each boat trip takes around 3 hours and can be booked using their website calendar.
2. Antique & Artisan Fair in Grasmere – Friday 12 to Sunday 14 April 2019
Held in the picturesque surroundings of Grasmere, the Antiques & Artisan Fair takes place from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 April. Here you can find collectables, antiques, vintage jewellery, china and more.
The event will take place at Village Hall and is close to popular locations including Dove Cottage and St Oswald’s Church. Additionally, entry is £1 and dogs are welcome.
3. An Audience With Cannon and Ball – Friday 19 April 2019
There is nothing better than having a laugh and starting the Easter break off with a pair of comedy legends could not be a better choice. Cannon and Ball will be performing a number of legendary routines and sketches throughout their show. Afterwards, there will also be an opportunity to find out more with a Q and A session.
The event takes place at The Platform in Morecambe and is priced at £20 for adults and £18 for concessions. You can find out more and book tickets here.
4. Morecambe Comic-Con – Monday 22 April 2019
If you are a fan of the entertainment world, then on Easter Monday you should go to The Platform in Morecambe. The annual Comic-Con is taking place and as always there will be all of your favourite superhero characters and more. Moreover, there will also be stalls selling everything from comics and artwork to retro games and action figures.
Tickets are priced at £6 (12 and over) and include a free A6 autographed collectors’ card from Simon Fisher-Becker who has stared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone and Doctor Who. The event will start at 10 am and ends at 4 pm.
5. Pirelli Interational Rally at Brampton – Saturday 27 April 2019
This years Pirelli International Rally features stages in Kielder Forest and will finish in Brampton, close to Carlisle. Famous tire manufacturers Pirelli Limited sponsor the event and it is free to attend. Furthermore, the rally is now into its 42nd year and will feature championships including the FIA Celtic Rally Trophy, British Rally Championship and the Race & Rally Rally2 Championship.
There is disabled access, children are welcome, and dogs are also allowed within the viewing areas.
