While you’re enjoying a break away, it helps to know what local events are happening. Luckily, our caravan site is perfectly located for enjoying a number of locations across the North West.
From the busy city of Lancaster to the picturesque countryside of the Lune Valley, there’s always something to do. Our blog at Meadow View Caravan Park looks into things to do in the North West during the rest of May and the start of June.
16th May: Museums at Night Event
Exploring the past is easy to do around the North West and our area is no exception. Heron Corn Mill in Beetham just north of Carnforth is opening up between 7 pm and 8.30 pm to show you what life would have been like.

18th and 19th May: Lower Rowell Farm & Cottage Open Garden (NGS)
At the Lower Rowell Farm & Cottage, there is 1 ¼ acre of garden with views across the Lakeland hills and Farleton Knott. The gardens are open from 1 pm to 5 pm and admission is £3.50 for adults and free for children.
There are also other events being held as part of the National Garden Society in our area.
8th June: Bolton Le Sands Gala
The local community are holding a gala in Bolton Le Sands, close to Carnforth, between 1 and 4 pm. Admission will be free and there are plenty of things to enjoy including local businesses and clubs.
17th to 19th May: Highest Point Festival
Held at Williamson Park in Lancaster is the areas very own 3-day music festival. This year bands including Feeder, Sister Sledge and Grandmaster Flash are playing, so it’s sure to be an exciting weekend.

12th June at 2 pm: ‘In the Footsteps of the Daltons of Thurnham’
As one of the most known families from the area, their legacy is being celebrated with a walk around their central Lancaster estates. This will be led by James Houghton and organised by the Friends of the Lancashire Archives.

18th May to 27th May: Lunesdale Arts Trail
The annual event takes place in the Lune Valley and celebrates artists who have spent time in the area. Both Wordsworth and Turner loved the area and today artists still come here to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
25th May: Hutton Roof Country Fair and Fell Race
Close the Kirkby Lonsdale, this is a great place to spend time with the family and enjoy the outdoors. From a painting competition to traditional games, there’s plenty of things to do. A senior fell race of 7 miles is also taking place for those who are interested.
